The
Wimpey Pensioners' Association (South East) is a voluntary organisation
with around 208 members and with the principal aim of promoting
and safeguarding the interests of Wimpey pensioners, including
deferred pensioners.
It
organises regular luncheons at convenient locations for Wimpey
pensioners, their partners and their friends.

NEWS of our FRIENDS
Tommy Lee sadly passed away on 29 December
2006.
We were told on 9th January 2007, that Ray
Lucking, of Lancing, Sussex, passed away recently..
All Wimpey pensioners, especially those formerly
with Department Two, w ill regret the passing of Clifford Chetwood
on Friday 9th February 2007. Sir Clifford was a man of many
parts: a great singer, sportsman, supporter of worthy causes,
a family man with four children and ten grandchildren, as well
as a builder, becoming chairman of Wimpey in 1984,, he will
be greatly missed.
Harry Sands sadly passed aeay on Monday 6th
August 2007. His funeral is arranged at Beckenham crematorium
at 14:15 on Friday 17th August 2007.

INFORMATION ON W. J. PILGRIM
Mr. Pilgrim who had worked for Wimpey between
1955 and 1970 and again between 1978 and 1984. He is said to
have worked as a tyre re-moulder in our "road building
and open cast mining division." His family remember that
he spoke of working too in a factory in Southall, Middlesex.
He sadly died in March 2005 and a firm
of solicitors acting on behalf of his estatewould very much
like to hear from anyone who had worked with him, particularly
during his first period of employment 1955 - 1970. Such persons
